A word is dead

When it is said,

Some say.

I say it just

Begins to live

That day.

Written by Me

I Reached Out

I reached out my soul

a friend for to find

I tarried. Hurried, worried, blind

I searched high. I searched low.

No friend did I find.

I reached beyond myself

hoping for repose.

All that returned to me

was fragments, hithered, tithered, told

I reached inside myself and found

my eyes and ears were opened.

For all the while I was

seeking to find,

There inside, deep within,

were all the keys to find.

Friends, knowledge, happiness,

Tears of Joy

Tears of Sorrow

Tears of looking towards tomorrow

Heaven sent and hours blessed

beside the fire sits.

All the answers, all the hope,

of time well spent.

While sending out my soul

and searching thus...

hoping, praying, trying.

I find the gifts I seek,

Happily Seeking me.

Siren Song (Margaret Atwood)

This is the one song everyone

would like to learn: the song

that is irresistable:

the song that forces men

to leap overboard in squadrons

even though they see the beached skulls

the song nobody knows

because anyone who has heard it

is dead, and the others can't remember

Shall I tell you the secret

and if I do, will you get me

out of this bird suit?

I don't enjoy it here

squatting on this island

looking picturesque and mythical

with these two feathery maniacs,

I don't enjoy singing

this trio, fatal and valuable.

I will tell the secret to you,

to you, only to you.

Come closer. This song

is a cry for help: Help me!

Only you, only you can,

you are unique

At last. Alas

it is a boring song

but it works every time.

My favorite poem is by Tino Villanueva.

Variation on a Theme by William Carlos Williams

I have eaten

the tamales

that were on

the stove heating

and which

you were probably

having

for dinner

Perdoname

they were riquisimos

so juicy

and so steaming hot

2 poems that come to mind are 'The Dauber' and 'Reynard the Fox' both by Masefield. I studied them at school and they had a big impact on me.
